Noé's work, artistic but also theoretical and academic; historical, but also absolutely present, is a central part of the last half century Argentine art. In all this time he has participated and influenced in a direct way Argentina's cultural life, also during his exile (because of the military dictatorship that took power between 1976 and 1983).
Since the sixties, when he founded and took part of the group known as La Nueva Figuración (the new figuration) or La Otra Figuración (the other figuration), up to nowadays, Noé always has painted from a place and a time that are in turn inscribed in his work, as a part of it and producing an interdependence between time and space coordinates; between the work and its context. The painting is here a black box that transforms and contains that context. The crisis and tensions of the world and of Argentine history are a permanent and constitutive subject in Noé's work. Hence, as well, the way that the artist chooses to title his works, with ironic sentences regarding the present paradoxes.
So the two mural paintings facing each other that make up this exhibition, from their own materiality, complex and fragmentary, expansive and detailed, transform these tensions in their subject. In both works there's an organization that manages to multiply and politicize the senses by means of the visual. Noé's murals, where a multitude of images coexist in different cores of attention, through different manners of painting and a set of variations (from miniature to gestures, from detailed to symphonic), imply the critical acceptance of chaos as a creative and coexistential principle.
His works are pure tension of the senses and a way of transforming knowledge in painting and painting in a way of knowing the world. Noé's two murals, devouring and inclusive --revealing the energy of one of the most expansive and vitally young artists of present Argentina--, work like nets that summon, catch, show, build, propose, discuss the state of the world.
In this time of global puzzlements, Noé's work provides a lucid glance and the challenges of a great artist.

La obra de Noé, artística pero también teórica y docente; histórica, pero también absolutamente presente, forma parte central del arte argentino del último medio siglo.
En todo este tiempo ha participado e influido de manera directa en la vida cultural de la Argentina, también durante su exilio (a causa de la dictadura militar que ocupó el poder entre 1976 y 1983).
Desde que en la década del sesenta fundó e integró el grupo conocido como La Nueva Figuración o La Otra Figuración, hasta la actualidad, Noé pintó siempre desde un lugar y un tiempo que a su vez están inscriptos en su obra, formando parte de ella y produciendo una interdependencia entre las coordenadas del espacio y el tiempo; entre la obra y su contexto. La pintura es aquí una caja negra que transforma y contiene ese contexto. Las crisis y las tensiones del mundo y de la historia Argentina son tema permanente y constitutivo en la obra de Noé. De ahí también la manera en que el artista titula sus trabajos, con frases irónicas respecto de las paradojas de presente.
Así, las dos pinturas murales enfrentadas que componen esta exhibición, desde su propia materialidad, compleja y fragmentaria, expansiva y detallada, hacen de estas tensiones su tema. En ambas obras hay una articulación que logra multiplicar y politizar los sentidos a través de lo visual. Los murales de Noé, donde conviven multitudes de imágenes, en distintos focos de atención, a través de diferentes modos de pintar y deuna variación de escalas (de la miniatura a lo gestual, de lo puntual a lo sinfónico), suponen la asunción crítica del caos como principio creativo y de coexistencia.
Sus obras son una pura tensión de sentidos y una forma de transformar el conocimiento en pintura y la pintura en un modo de conocimiento del mundo. Los dos murales de Noé, devoradores e inclusivos -que revelan la energía de uno de los artistas más expansivos y vitalmente jóvenes de la Argentina actual, funcionan como redes que convocan, atrapan, muestran, construyen, proponen, discuten el estado del mundo.
En este tiempo de desconciertos globales, la obra de Noé aporta la mirada lúcida y los cuestionamientos de un gran artista.
